Winter Dal for Vata Season

This dal features yellow mung beans, ginger, and spices for supporting healthy digestion for Vata dosha. It can be enjoyed anytime, but especially during Vata season. The recipe also includes dried red chilies in the second tempering of the spices. This bit of warming to the dal will support the cold quality found in both Vata and Kappa Dosha. The seasonal transition between Vata and Kappa Dosha can make us susceptible to chest and sinus congestion. The warming nature of the red chilies and ginger can support you during this transition.
