Our 200hr yoga teacher training programs will continue to be online AND we are adding an in-studio component that will also be broadcast online and can be done at a “satellite” location (such as your home).
The power of online synchronous yoga teacher training:
You can do the training from anywhere.
We’re in real time together, learning, growing, practicing.
All aspects of the training are recorded for your continued review and practice.
Our schedule provides breaks for you to be with your family, go outdoors, to tend to your garden, or to nourish yourself with food and rest.
The drawbacks for online yoga teacher trainings (even when they’re synchronous):
It’s challenging to get your camera set properly so the teacher can see your practice.
The teacher can’t adequately provide verbal feedback to all of the students expediently.
No hands on recommendations can be provided.
The teacher can’t see you teaching to a group of students in one room (while they can see you practice teaching within your breakout room, it’s not a thorough substitute for seeing you interact with your students in real time).
Learning visual observation with verbal feedback for your students is limited to the tiny squares of a zoom room. You can’t walk around the classroom for different views. And it depends on where your students’ cameras are.
You can’t recommend a prop that your students don’t have at home.
"Satellite Hybrid Format"
Sarahjoy will be teaching portions of the 200hr Yoga Teacher Training at Yoga on Yamhill, a local studio in Portland, Oregon.
Any students local to Portland will have the option to be in person for these portions of the training.
These sections of the training will also continue to be broadcast live on zoom. Sarahjoy and her assistants will have the large screen TV monitor on which to see any students who are not local in person.
For students who are not local to Portland, it will be recommended to have a couple of students join them for these portions of the training.
Each student will have a few students to work with to practice observation skills, verbal and physical support skills, use of yoga props, and adapting practices to people’s various physical needs.
Our training school assistants will also be online to give guidance for those doing these sessions virtually.
