300-hr ADVANCED Yoga

Teacher Training

“Sarahjoy has the gift to bring her deep, broad knowledge to her students through her language, her voice, and her genuine, integrated self. As she often says: 'We are to be a vessel of all of our previous teachers.'
It is indeed her art. She combines the western science beautifully with the ancient science of yoga."

A Comprehensive, Trauma-Informed,
Neuro-Biologically Grounded Training

This training is open to both yoga teachers and allied health professionals who are eager to broaden their scope of practice. We integrate ancient yoga psychology, philosophy, and Ayurveda with contemporary, research-based understandings from neuroscience, mindfulness, psychology, physiology, and contemplative practices.

This 300-hr training is registered with the Yoga Alliance and qualifies you for a 500hr RYT Certification with the Yoga Alliance.  This is also the first 300 hours of our 800-hr Yoga Therapy Training with the IAYT, International Association of Yoga Therapists.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW
  • Are you a yoga teacher looking to incorporate therapeutic tools into your classes?
  • Are you wanting to bring trauma-informed yoga into your current work?
  • Would you like to widen your view, expand your toolkit, and feel more confident with a more diverse student population?
  • Are you a mental health professional who would like to weave yogic principles into your practice with clients?
  • Are you curious about how yoga promotes psychological, physical and spiritual vitality?

Our training methodology develops each individual practitioner and creates a sense of community in the process. This is both a professional and personal journey. Who we become as Yoga Professionals relies both on what we bring to our training and development and the teachers, communities, and environments in which we study. As well, the depth of support, encouragement, compassion, and discerning input provided to each trainee is intentionally designed to nourish every participant to become the strongest, most clear, and most compassionate provider they can be. Graduates go on to develop their private practice, providing individual sessions for their students; as well as offering small group yoga series for therapeutic benefit to their students.

Equity, Diversity, Inclusivity Statement + Scholarships

We are dedicated to celebrating diversity across cultures, race, ethnicities, belief systems, sexual orientations, ages, abilities, and body types.  There has been a lack of diverse representation in yoga in the West due to commercialism, colonialism, and appropriation. We are committed to doing our part. In addition to teaching yoga in prisons and other settings for people marginalized by the inequities in our society, we also provide scholarships for our training programs. We have been dedicated to extending the healing potential of yoga in communities of need and throughout marginalized populations since 1998. As a training institution, the best way we can commit to increasing diversity in yoga is to grow a community of students and teachers that is represented by people of diverse backgrounds and ethnicities.

In support of diversifying yoga leadership, Black, Indigenous, and People of Color registering for our trainings are invited to apply for scholarships with our school.

We don’t assume that all who identify as BIPOC require or want financial support to access yoga. For those who do, we see this as step we can take towards offering reparations within a healthcare system that has predominantly failed communities of color.
