140-hr Yoga Psychology

Professional Training

140-hour Certificate Course for
Mental Health Providers and Wellness Professionals

Yoga psychology addresses all symptoms from a multidimensional and profoundly compassionate perspective.  We learn to understand and respond to our personal experience of both our human conditioning, which, when misunderstood, is prone to suffering; and our human potential, which, when understood, is capable of love, generosity, kindness, and equanimity.

[Scroll down to hear from graduates.]

The tools of yoga help clients to learn about and relate to their symptoms, imbalances, injuries, or life-events as opportunities for self-discovery and for inspiring the process of transformation from illness to vitality, from limitation to capacity, or from disintegration to re-integration.
  • Would like to weave yogic principles into your practice with clients?
  • Are you curious about how yoga promotes psychological, physical and spiritual vitality?
  • Do you seek self-care strategies to assist in your own professional grounding + longevity?

This 6-month training is offered to small cohorts 2 times a year. You can expect personal attention and connection.

The program is so rich, engaging, and delivered with wisdom and compassion. For me it was a life altering choice. I have deepened my own practice and have become more skilled as a teacher, therapist, and I will add, a more skilled human being."

"Being able to engage with clients through the lens of yoga, mindfulness and somatics powerfully changes the therapeutic dynamic. I'm working less hard to help clients with outcomes that were previously hard won. Since these outcomes are embodied experiences for them, they're able to more deeply stabilize and integrate in their healing."

"Phenomenal training. Sarahjoy is an extraordinary teacher who is living the teachings she provides. Yoga clearly shines through her yet she also has amazing facility with Western methods which she readily tailors to a trauma-informed lens. I am both personally and professionally transformed!"

Scholarship
We strive to make teacher trainings accessible for all. Therefore, we provide selective scholarship assistance. To determine your eligibility for financial assistance, please FIRST complete the application above, then complete the request below.

Equity, Diversity, Inclusivity Statement + Scholarships

We are dedicated to celebrating diversity across cultures, race, ethnicities, belief systems, sexual orientations, ages, abilities, and body types.  There has been a lack of diverse representation in yoga in the West due to commercialism, colonialism, and appropriation. We are committed to doing our part. In addition to teaching yoga in prisons and other settings for people marginalized by the inequities in our society, we also provide scholarships for our training programs. We have been dedicated to extending the healing potential of yoga in communities of need and throughout marginalized populations since 1998. As a training institution, the best way we can commit to increasing diversity in yoga is to grow a community of students and teachers that is represented by people of diverse backgrounds and ethnicities.

In support of diversifying yoga leadership, Black, Indigenous, and People of Color registering for our trainings are invited to apply for scholarships with our school.

We don’t assume that all who identify as BIPOC require or want financial support to access yoga. For those who do, we see this as step we can take towards offering reparations within a healthcare system that has predominantly failed communities of color.
