Facilitated by Sarahjoy Marsh with Guest Presenters:
Dave Ebaugh, LCSW, will be a contributing member of our TIBS Level 2 training faculty May 29-31. With over 20 years of experience and a professional practice (Trauma Focused Therapy, EMDR, and Active Resolution Therapy) dedicated to the healing of traumatic events, Dave brings a depth of experience that will help us to understand the importance of the brain in trauma resolution. https://www.traumafocusedtherapy.com/ The Covid-19 pandemic, ecological crisis, and political discord are planet-wide, shared traumas. Yoga teachers and mental health therapists will feel more empowered to help their students and communities when understanding how the brain works and how trauma can be resolved somatically, non-intellectually, even non-verbally. Chris Huffine, Psy.D, will also be a contributing member of our TIBS Level 2 faculty. As Co-Founder and Executive Director of Allies in Change, Chris has created a research-driven methodology for working with domestic violence. His approach is compatible with the bio-psycho-social lens of yoga wherein we must work with both the individual and the collective, see the indwelling humanity with respect and consistency AND prevent pain and suffering from causing interpersonal violence. He is an authentic and knowledgeable presenter. Chris provides counseling to individuals and couples, facilitates counseling groups, and regularly speaks on domestic violence at Portland State and Pacific University. https://www.alliesinchange.org/ |
